Irish Pony Club Test Information
All Pony Club tests are optional but members are encouraged to progress through them during their time in the Pony Club.
There is a minimum age at which each test may be taken. Your D.C., with advice from an instructor, will advise you when you have reached the standard for a particular test once you are the minimum age.
Test Cards are available from your D.C. or Secretary or on The Test Page on the Irish Pony Club website. These detail the complete syllabus for each test. The Syllabus for each test are also available on the IPC Website.
When you pass a test, you get a signed certificate and a coloured disc to wear behind your Pony Club Badge. There are different coloured certificates and discs for different tests.
It is important to note the following:
A member cannot take a test with another branch without the written permission of both D.C.’s, and the Area Representative.
A parent may not arrange a test for a child.
The practice of bringing pressure to bear on Area Reps., D.C.’s, Examiners and other Irish Pony Club officials regarding Pony Club Tests is unacceptable.
If a member fails a test, a minimum of two months must elapse before retaking the test.
SEQUENCE OF TESTS;
Tests must be taken in sequence. The sequence of tests are as follows:
(this is a relatively new test in the pony club. It is an official voluntary test for young new members. It is not necessary to either take or pass this test before attempting the D test).
