DRESSAGE

What is Dressage?

Dressage is the highest expression of training where horse and rider are expected to perform from memory a series of predetermined movements. it develops obedience, flexibility and balance in the horse, and is therefore the basis for all other equestrian disciplines.

Dressage is about showing the judge that you can get your pony/horse to do what you want him/her to do, when you want him/her to do it.
You and your pony/horse have to follow a set of instructions laid out in the dressage test.

A judge marks the test. They give you a mark out of ten for how well you carry out each instruction.
